DELIVERY of cannabis may be on the way after Stanton City Council’s action on Tuesday

The Stanton City Council on Tuesday night approved a resolution that will open the application process for commercial cannabis delivery business permits from existing commercial cannabis retail “storefront” businesses.
The vote was 4-0 with Councilmember Donald Torres not present, but with an excused absence.
Even though the city has issued four delivery permits, none of them began operations within two years by the November 2023 deadline, and – considering what’s called a “thriving cannabis delivery market” – city staff had urged the council to reopen the process.
The resolution will open a new application process for four existing “pot” stores to apply for delivery permits. The application period will be between May 9, 2024 and June 30, 2024.
