“On October 9, 2023, Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Wearsch observed a vehicle commit several traffic violations. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and the 18-year-old driver admitted to using cannabis 2 hours prior. She was asked to step out of her vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. Due to her nervousness, she was unable to complete the standard tests. As a result, she was arrested for DUI. Even though she was handcuffed, she was allowed to use her phone in the back of the police car in order to have someone pick her up from the police station. While on the phone, she admitted to her mother that she had cannabis on her body. She then tried to hide the cannabis is various areas of her body. Meanwhile, Trooper Wearsch found cannabis while searching the woman’s car. She was transported to the Elyria police station, where she provided a urine specimen.
