A recently filed lawsuit claims fraud by a medical marijuana dispensary company in its efforts to move a store from Jefferson County to Prairie County, while also implicating the state’s Medical Marijuana Commission in violations of the Freedom of Information Act and the commission and the Alcohol Beverage Control Division for the “illegal and unconstitutional act of” renewing the dispensary’s license.
Currently at 110 Grider Field Ladd Road in Pine Bluff, the Speakeasy Dispensary was approved by the commission in October to relocate to 11618 N. Newberry Drive in the Ward area.
The lawsuit, which “demands” a jury trial, was filed against Dark Horse Cannabis — which owns Speakeasy — and Prairie County Real Estate Investment Company.
The CEO of Dark Horse Cannabis is Casey Flippo.
