A national coffee chain is breaking records with the launch of its first Naperville location.
But that’s not the only local debut making its mark on the city this fall, with a new cannabis dispensary due to open later this month, a dog grooming business opening its doors Friday and a Wheaton orthodontist expanding its offices.
After officially opening Oct. 14, 7 Brew Coffee is off to a record-breaking start, founder and CEO of the franchise Laura Karet says.
The drive-thru coffee spot at 1203 Iroquois Ave. is “49% above the opening week record across the 7 Brew network,” Karet said Thursday. “We’re very happy.”
Originally started in Arkansas seven years ago, 7 Brew today has more than 267 coffee stands operating across the country. The chain boasts a menu with the capacity to offer more than 20,000 drink unique options, according to its website.
7 Brew’s stand on Iroquois Avenue is its first in Naperville. But it won’t be its only location in the city, according to Karet. Another store is already in the works, she said. Though declining to disclose the second stand’s address, Karet said the new location will be about 20 minutes away from its forerunner. Currently, Karet is aiming to open the second stand in the first half of next year.
She has no plans of stopping at two either.
“We are looking at an additional site that would open late next year,” she said. “And we think there at least could be three or four more stores so that the Naperville area can be served the way it deserves to be served.”
Scenthound, a hygiene and wellness center for dogs, opened Friday at 3108 S. Route 59 in south Naperville.
A national venture, Scenthound has locations from coast to coast. In Illinois, in addition to its newly opened local salon, Scenthound has stores in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood, Lake Zurich and Buffalo Grove.
Scenthound offers both grooming and hygiene services, including bathing, ear cleaning, nail clipping and teeth brushing, as well as haircuts and facial scrubs. Pricing is based on the dog’s size, coat length, density and condition.
Naperville’s Scenthound will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with appointments available starting at 8:30 a.m.
Construction has started for a retail cannabis dispensary slated to open in unincorporated Naperville by the end of the month, according to a news release. Prairie Cannabis will be located at 4S120 Route 59.
An Illinois-based company, the new Naperville dispensary is its first retail location but the company has plans to launch more stores next year, officials said.
A Wheaton-based orthodontist has expanded to Napervillle. Razi Orthodontics launched a Naperville office at 1512 N. Naper Blvd. earlier this fall. This marks the business’ second location, with its original office located at 2212 N. Main St. in Wheaton.
Treatments that Razi Orthodontics offers include Invisalign and braces. Services are available for children, teens and adults.
