The City of Yorkville has received a proposal from petitioner Steve Weber on behalf of PTS Corp. for a special use to operate a cannabis dispensary. The dispensary would be located at 334 E. Veterans Parkway directly adjacent to the east of Jewel Osco in the Yorkville Marketplace development.
The special use application for the Yorkville Marketplace location was filed in November after their initial special use and variance requests for a site located near Parkview Christian Academy were denied by the Planning and Zoning Commission in October. According to documents filed with the city, the request seeks to operate the dispensary in a properly zoned development, in compliance with Section 10-4-14, Medical and Adult Use Cannabis Standards, of the Yorkville Unified Development Ordinance.
A public hearing on the special use proposal is scheduled for Wednesday, February 12th at 7 p.m. at Yorkville City Hall, 651 Prairie Pointe Drive.
