Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a bill meant to provide the same property tax benefits to farmers who grow cannabis as are available for other crops.

The legislation, S1752/A1234, expands the definition of crops, livestock, and livestock products to include cannabis, preventing unforeseen property tax increases and possible penalties to farmers who choose to grow marijuana on all or some of their land.
