Kingston Police say they raided the unlicensed dispensary at the corner of Queen and Division streets on Tuesday, six days after shutting down the storefront and making around $170,000 worth of seizures last week.
Police first searched and shut down the property on Nov. 13 but soon after they “received further information” that the dispensary reopened days later.
Police were granted a second search warrant for the property located at 185 Division St. by a justice of the peace under the Cannabis Act on Nov. 19, they said.
That search led police to seize a variety of contraband items, police allege, including several point of sales devices, advertising signage, unstamped tobacco products, and Canadian currency with associated registers.

They also allegedly located numerous cannabis-based products, including 10,061 grams of loose cannabis, 765 grams of pre-rolled cannabis joints, 736 grams of hash, and 7,967 grams of edible gummies and chocolates.
It came to a total street value of $195,290.
A local 23-year-old female resident was charged and released on an undertaking with two counts under the Cannabis Act, and one count of unstamped tobacco under the Criminal Code of Canada.
During its Nov. 13 raid, investigators said they seized 5,254 grams of pre-rolled cannabis joints, 7,582 grams of cannabis infused edible gummies, 4,058 “pre-packaged bud marijuana”, and 1,041 unstamped tobacco products.
That time, the total street value of the items seized was $170,000, and a 21-year-old Kingston resident was charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling it, and possession for use in production or distribution of illicit cannabis under the Cannabis Act.
While cannabis and cannabis-related products are legal in Canada, they are regulated, and sellers must be registered with the government. Not only was the business unlicensed, police said the products were unauthorized.
“The public is reminded that cannabis-related businesses must operate in compliance with Ontario regulations. Illegal operations undermine licensed businesses, public health, and safety,” Kingston police said in a news release Thursday.
They said anyone with information regarding the illegal sale of cannabis within the City of Kingston should contact D/Sgt Shawn Birney at 613-549-4660 ext. 6323.
