Holly Harris stands in front of her store, Windy Hill CBD Oils and Wellness Company in Greenwich
The Windy Hill Wellness dispensary is ready for its big day. Friday Oct. 25 is the grand opening of the cannabis dispensary in Greenwich.
GLENS FALLS—Holly Harris is officially expanding her wellness store into a cannabis dispensary tomorrow, Friday Oct. 25.
At 10:30 Friday morning, Harris is hosting a ribbon-cutting event for the expansion of Windy Hill CBD Oils and Wellness Company in Greenwich. This is all after a process she’s called “a holy hell of a nightmare to get where I am.”
“It’s a long process,” Harris said, documenting in full to the Post-Star her journey with the Office of Cannabis Management, the lottery queue and the background check, just to start.
She says that her goal with Windy Hill is to provide cannabis as a source of natural wellness, not the “Cheech and Chong” type of smoking.
“We look at helping people to be well,” She said. “We help them sleep if they’re struggling with PTSD. If they have inflammation, you know, they’ll come in and be like, ‘What can I do to help alleviate that?’”
Harris offers cannabis products of all kinds including gummies, vape flowers and THC edibles.
A big part of her business, Harris says, is working closely with her community. The majority of cannabis will be locally grown flowers within a 30-mile radius of the store, from farms in Argyle, Granville and Amsterdam.
“That was one of my big things, is that I want to support local,” Harris said.
Unlike other cannabis dispensaries in the area, Harris said that she had no pushback from the town when planning the expansion.
“When we put in for our license, we had full support of the mayor,” Harris said. “I had full support of the law enforcement. Everyone was behind us, because they know how my business is run.”
With the ribbon cutting tomorrow, Harris says she’s still nervous about running the dispensary and the hurdles she will continue to go through for it but is grateful for the support she’s gotten that brought her this far.
“It will always be scary, but we’re trying to do it the right way and bring something to this community,” Harris said. “And one of my big things is I support local.
“I will give back to this community 100% and trying to bring commerce into this village is key. And that’s what it’s all about, helping grow and helping people discover natural wellness,” she said.
Windy Hills opens for daily operations at 11 a.m. Friday, after the ribbon cutting.
