Narcotics, firearms, more seized in Wythe County narcotics investigation – WSET

The Wythe County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit has been focusing in on the distribution of large quantities of methamphetamines and firearms in the county.
Warrants were out for two people,and the sheriff's office said more seizures are expected.
On May 17, search warrants were obtained for firearms and ammunition at a home on Copenhaver Road in Wytheville. These were obtained following information from prior arrests, confidential informants and surveillance.
Narcotics were found in the residence as well, and another search warrant was obtained. More than two pounds of methamphetamine and nine grams of illegal psilocybin mushrooms were seized. An individual – Anthony Joshua Thomas – was at the home. Officers said he was wanted for failure to appear in court for felony eluding from law enforcement and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

On May 22, warrants were obtained for Kelly Ann Porter; these involved possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of a schedule 1 or 2 controlled substance and possession of 200 grams or more of a mixture containing methamphetamine, with intent to distribute.
That same day, U.S. Marshals adopted the warrants after receiving information that she had fled the area. Members of the sheriff's office, who are also U.S. Marshal Task Force members, followed a lead to Vinton where they found Porter in the parking lot of Rosie's Gaming Emporium, where she was taken into custody.
Officers said another search warrant was obtained for a hotel room in Dublin, Virginia. They said further arrests are expected as they continue the investigation.
Seizures were also made of a King Ranch F-150 pickup truck, Polaris four-wheeler, Troy-built zero turn mower and more than $5,100.
