State officials released $2.3 million in emergency grant funding to a select group of cannabis companies on Tuesday, aiming to inject needed cash into businesses owned by people who bore the brunt of marijuana prohibition.
The 50 grants announced Tuesday represented the first money distributed from the state’s Cannabis Social Equity Trust Fund.
