A cannabis dispensary in Egg Harbor Township is gearing up for the 4/20 “high holiday” by holding a raffle for a pound of weed.
Brute’s Roots, a cannabis cultivator and dispensary located at 6206 Black Horse Pike, has elevated the upcoming 420 day for marijuana enthusiasts by planning to give away one pound of marijuana redeemable in 16 vouchers, each for 1 ounce of Brute’s Roots Flower at $1, with a one-voucher-per-day redemption limit to comply with New Jersey state regulations.
So, what is the value of such a giveaway?
Let’s do the math.
There are 16 ounces in a pound, and cannabis is usually sold by an eighth of an ounce. There are 128 eighths of an ounce in a pound.
According to the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission, an eighth of an ounce runs about $43.
One pound of weed would therefore be valued at more than $5,500.
No purchase is necessary to enter, but participants must be 21 or older. To enter in person, just stop by Brute’s Roots dispensary in Egg Harbor Township.
