Ashley Brown, CEO of 716 Cannabis, describes the burglary of the dispensary last month.
Western New York will get its 10th state-licensed recreational cannabis dispensary this weekend.
East Leaf will have a soft opening starting at 11 a.m. Saturday at its new location, 2442 Clinton St. in Cheektowaga.
The dispensary is owned by Gina and Glen Miller. The two also own Southgate Liquors in West Seneca.
The Millers were among the first four licensees granted in Western New York last April under the Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensary program, which gives priority to people who have a significant business presence in New York State and have a cannabis-related conviction or a close family member who has one.
The pair had originally hoped to open by September but, as time went on, they became more concerned with doing things right than doing things quickly, they said.
